Autoimmune diseases feature the abnormal production of extra antibodies in the blood directed against various tissues of the body, which tends to lead to inflammation. The hallmark symptom of Sj\u00f6gren\u2019s syndrome is generalized dryness, typically xerostomia (dry mouth) and keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eyes), known as sicca symptoms. Sj\u00f6gren\u2019s syndrome may cause skin, nose and vaginal dryness and may affect other organs of the body, including the kidneys, blood vessels, lungs, liver, pancreas, peripheral nervous system or brain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/forum.livingwithnarcolepsy.org\/t\/welcome-to-living-with-narcolepsy\/633#what-is-bensfriendsorg-4\"><\/a>What is&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/bensfriends.org\/\">BensFriends.org<\/a>?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2007, Ben Mu\u00f1oz suffered a rare form of stroke caused by an AVM. He was unable to find the support he needed during the most difficult time, so he created an online support community&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/avmsurvivors.org\/\">AVMSurvivors.org<\/a>&nbsp;to connect with others like him.&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/avmsurvivors.org\/\">AVMSurvivors.org<\/a>&nbsp;led to the founding of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/bensfriends.org\/\">BensFriends.org<\/a>, driven to provide patient-to-patient support communities for people living with rare diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bensfriends.org\/\">BensFriends.org<\/a>&nbsp;is a network of patient communities for people living with rare diseases.
